Verhoef Gangway Systems

Verhoef Gangway Systems

Safe and reliable under all circumstances

Verhoef Access Technology has designed and manufactured more than 1200 shore-based access systems for oil and gas terminals in over 70 countries all over the world. Since the supply of the first Gangway System in 1966, we have developed a large number of standard designs, which are flexible to be adapted or tuned in accordance with the specific requirements of the client. For the largest ULCC's to the smallest barges, Verhoef can provide you with a safe and reliable gangway system that follows the ship movements resulting from tidal, loading/unloading and heave motions.

Basically there are four main designs:

  • column type, with a telescopic gangway at a fixed height. The column type is suitable for reaching ship deck levels from well below up to a maximum of approximately 18 meter (54 feet) above jetty deck. This makes this type of gangway system suitable as barge gangway as well as marine gangway.
  • riding ladder and gangway with lifting portal can be used when the variation in ship’s deck levels is limited and sufficient space on the jetty deck is available.
  • the tower type, with a telescopic gangway that moves vertically along the tower by means of a lift platform. Because of its lift platform, the gangway-tower can cover ship deck levels from Small Barges up to Ultra Large Crude Carriers.
