Verhoef Access Technology is an internationally well-recognized company that has designed and manufactured more than 600 marine gangway systems for oil and LNG terminals all over the world, since 1966.

We are certified according ISO 9001 standards and our access systems meet all the safety regulations provided by national and international associations.

Depending on the requirements of customers and the local situation, Verhoef builds standard and tailor-made shore-based marine gangways, also known as jetty gangways.

Marine gangway systems – positioned on shore
Shore-based access equipment is constructed on top of the jetty or berth. It consists of a steel construction with access stairs, an aluminium telescopic gangway and optional lift platforms (gangway tower), stores crane, cabins or fire monitors.

During the years Verhoef has developed a large number of standard designs in shore-based gangways. These designs are flexible to adapt in accordance with the specific requirements of the Client.

Basically there are 2 main designs in the Verhoef equipment:

• The column type with a telescopic gangway at a fixed height, suitable for reaching ship deck levels up to a maximum of about 15 meters above jetty deck.
• The gangway tower has been designed to cover all ranges of ship deck levels. By adding extra height to the gangway tower and thus extra lift platform stations, all possible deck levels can be reached.
  Depending on your wishes and requirements, our telescopic jetty gangway can be equipped with steps that are self levelling or a fixed walking surface with cross ridges. Either way, with equipment of Verhoef, safe access is always guaranteed.

All Verhoef jetty gangways are hydraulically operated by simple control panels and are equipped with explosion-proof electrical systems. Each telescopic system is well designed and always manufactured of high grade steel and aluminium. The specific surface treatment and paint systems we use for our gangways have been selected for their technical properties and withstand all climate circumstances.

As company standard, the process to accommodate ship or tidal movements is fully automated or tailor-made to meet your specific requirements (‘free-wheel-system’ ; once the gangway has been positioned on ships deck, and operation handle has been put into the free wheel position, it will follow all ship-movements automatically, up down / sliding in-out, and slewing over the horizontal level).
