Verhoef Access Technology is a known expert on shore-based aluminum gangway equipment. Since 1966, we have delivered over 600 aluminum gangways to oil and LNG terminals all over the world. Verhoef equipment is well known for their quality and are also recognized for their safety. Our company has been certified in accordance with the International standard for Quality Assurance ISO 9001. Moreover, all our aluminum gangways meet safety requirements set by national and international organizations.

Verhoef Access Technology offers you flexibility. We have a large variety in our two standard designs of aluminum gangway systems.

Shore-based aluminium gangway equipment
Verhoef has developed two standard designs in shore-based gangway systems. With these designs it is possible to supply any aluminium gangway system in complete accordance with the specific requirements of the client.

The shore-based telescopic aluminium gangway is constructed on the jetty deck or berth. They are mounted on a steel construction which can be equipped with lift platforms, stores cranes, control cabins or fire monitors.

There are 2 main designs:

• The column type: a round steel column with its aluminium telescopic ladder at a fixed height. This type of barge access system is suitable for reaching deck levels of max. 15 mtrs above the deck of the jetty.
• The gangway tower; a square steel construction with a lift system that ensures that all ranges of ship deck levels can be reached by the telescopic aluminium ladder.

Because of the hazardous environment in which the telescopic gangways must operate, all gangways are equipped with explosion proof electrical systems. The materials for hydraulic systems too, have been chosen for their superb technical properties. We have delivered ship-to-shore equipment to terminals 40 years ago, that are still in daily operation today!

The operation of the Verhoef aluminium gangways is done via logical handles on the control panel; one person suffices to smoothly manoeuvre the ladder on to the deck. Once put into the free-wheel-mode, the telescopic gangway follows every movement the ship makes, either because of the tide, the weather or loading/unloading activities.

Both designs in telescopic access systems can be equipped with either a fixed ant-slip walking surface with cross-ridges or self-levelling steps.
